The tiled wall casts a shadow that holds a key, though the real hand remains empty. Beneath it all, the artist’s home floor reappears with obsessive clarity; its swirling knots recall a childhood habit of tracing wood grain, a practice she revived years later in New York reveries. Steel Cinderella explores the uneasy space between control and surrender, where protection no longer feels protective and fantasy presses too close to home.
