We are delighted to present another exhibition at HIDDEN UMPRUM, featuring student of Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, Anna Holínská.

In the exhibition titled Through the Fingers, personal memory enters into a dialogue with collective memory; the passing or disappearance of memories becomes a tangible phenomenon, a trace left in the landscape that confirms that we were really there - and that we still exist. As if feet could tell stories in which we touch life, transport us from place to place, are our companions. Why do we so often neglect them? I wonder what feet do when they inhabit the landscape on their own? How do we see ourselves? Anna Holínská sees feet not only as a way of expressing evidence of a past memory - our existence in the landscape, but also as a means of emancipatory self-expression. She views herself through her feet, so often overlooked. She moves her toes and feels a certain power arise in them that begins to circulate to the rest of her body.
