The shapes in my artwork represent memories infused with various emotions, derived from the forms of objects, landscapes, and impressions I've encountered in my daily life.
These shapes are not just single memories but layers of multiple past recollections that overlap in my paintings. As I paint, shapes and colors flow naturally from my mind to my fingertips, creating soothing lines and hues on the canvas.
The memories in my mind are quite vague, fading over time, shifting without my awareness, and blending together.
The images I create are expressions of these ambiguous forms merging into one shape, symbolizing an elusive 'something' that is present yet can't be precisely defined.
I wonder what scenes you will envision when you view my paintings. I hope you will ponder what the elusive 'something' might be that lies within.

Yuki allows her spontaneous imagination to shape the final outcome.
Yuki Asano's art is rooted in the concept of memory and its elusive nature.
She captures fleeting moments and personal recollections, translating them into visual narratives that combine soft colors, delicate forms, and a hint of nostalgia. Her work encourages viewers to find their own meanings within her pieces, highlighting the shared human experience of remembrance and loss.
Yuki primarily uses acrylics, pastels, and mixed media, often working without preliminary sketches to allow her spontaneous imagination to shape the final outcome. Her process involves layering colors and textures to evoke a sense of depth and complexity, mimicking the way memories accumulate and fade over time. Yuki’s artworks are known for their light, almost ethereal quality, with an undercurrent of profound emotional depth.
I wonder what scenes you will envision when you view my paintings. I hope you will ponder what the elusive 'something' might be that lies within.

Yuki's goal as an artist is to create a space where people can explore their own emotions and memories through her work. She believes in the power of art to connect people across cultures and experiences, and her exhibitions have taken place in various parts of the world, from Japan to Norway and Mexico. Her artistic journey is one of constant exploration, both of her inner world and the diverse environments she encounters.
