Paweł Sobczak
About
Paweł Sobczak (born 1997) is an artist who graduated the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice with a master’s degree with distinction and the UPV Faculty of Fine Arts in Sant Carles, Valencia. He focuses on creating art in a style called „Romanticism Fatal” which draws inspiration from classical values and ancient art, emphasizing the diversity of cultures in today’s society.
His works often feature recurring portraits of young men, symbolizing tragic figures. These paintings explore themes of ethics and morality through symbolism and metaphors. He also creates objects and installations using natural materials and everyday items, giving them new meaning within the context of his exhibitions. Sobczak engages all the viewer’s senses by incorporating elements of scent, taste, and touch into his exhibitions. He often accompanies his artworks with texts that draw from biblical parables and mythology, expanding on themes of sexuality, spirituality, transience, and sensitivity, with each piece reflecting his emotional state.
