Gallery Life #02 – Paintings, Delays & a Bit of Sunlight

May 15, 2025 – Prague

This vlog documents a day spent wrapping up the last artist visits for our Sofia Art Fair 2025 promo shoot — this time with Anna Krištofíková and Roman Košťál.

Anna is preparing for her upcoming solo show at HIDDEN Bořivojova, opening right after Roman’s current exhibition ends. She already had a solo show at HIDDEN Republika, and it’s great to work together again. Roman, on the other hand, is not new to HIDDEN either — we previously collaborated on a successful HIDDEN Editions release, which is now nearly sold out. If you’re interested in any of his pieces, whether from the edition or the current show, don’t wait too long.

The vlog also takes you to the ongoing installation of the new HIDDEN AVU show titled Domeček pod dekou, curated by Florian Synák and featuring Dina Spokij. The show opens May 16 — even though the installation was supposed to start three days earlier. Artists being late? Not news.

In the video, I talk about how Hidden AVU and Hidden UMPRUM are more than just student showcases — they’re about building long-term relationships with emerging artists from the beginning of their careers. So far, we’ve mostly collaborated with specific studios, but from now on, I’ll be opening up the program to all students from AVU and UMPRUM, regardless of studio affiliation.

Later in the day, I returned to the AVU to photograph works by Anna, Roman, and even one piece by Martin Kolář — who wanted to compare it with what he had from the official school photographer. Let’s just say, he was impressed.
